Privacy Policy

Lumi asks you about money, and money is rarely just money. It comes with shame, fear, and things you may never have said out loud. Being vague about where that goes would contradict the whole point of the work.

So here is the plain version. Safety before strategy applies to your data too.

The short version

  • Your conversation is stored, so your reset is still there when you come back.
  • It is yours. Nobody browses it, and it never appears in any other Mindful Money tool.
  • Your words are sent to Anthropic's Claude, which is how Lumi replies at all.
  • You can delete everything yourself, from inside Lumi, in two clicks.
  • Nothing is ever sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train an AI model.

1. Who is responsible

Legal entity: 59NORTH - Ken Westgaard
Organisation number: 999 261 531
Address: Ramberg terrasse 34, 3128 Nøtterøy, Norway

is the data controller. That is the business behind Mindful Money Life.

Questions about anything on this page: support@mindfulmoney.life.

2. What Lumi collects

Your email address. So you can sign in and we can reach you about your subscription. There is no password; we email you a 6-digit code instead.

Whether you said yes to emails from Ken, and when. This is a separate, optional tick at the start, off unless you choose it. If you tick it, your email address is added to Ken's email list at Kit, tagged as coming from the reset, and tagged again if you finish Step 10, so the emails can fit where you are. Nothing you write to Lumi goes to Kit. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.

What you write to Lumi, and what Lumi writes back. This is the reset itself: reflections about money, your body, and how you feel.

Where you are in the 10 steps, and when you started each one.

Your answers to the 6 opening questions, and the internal starting point Lumi works out from them. That starting point only changes how she talks with you. It is never shown to you as a label, never shared, and it has no effect on anything outside the conversation.

Your subscription status, meaning whether you have a subscription, and whether it is active or cancelled. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never held by us. We never see your card number.

What you agreed to, and when. The date you confirmed you are 18 or over and agreed to this page, and whether you chose to let Lumi learn from your words.

3. What Lumi never asks for

Your income, your debts, your balances, your bank details, or your account numbers. Lumi is instructed never to ask, and there is nowhere in the product to enter them. This is not a budgeting tool.

If you volunteer a number in conversation, it lives in the conversation like anything else you write, and it disappears when you delete your data.

4. Why the conversation is kept

So the reset works. Lumi remembers what you noticed at Step 2 when you reach Step 6, and your reset is still where you left it when you come back weeks later. Without that, you would start from nothing every time.

5. Who can see it

    • You, whenever you sign in.
    • Anthropic, because your conversation is sent to Claude to write each reply. Anthropic does not use it to train their models.
    • Ken, only where it is needed to keep the service running, or if you write in asking for help with your own account. There is no screen anywhere that shows him people's conversations. Reaching one means going into the database directly, which is a deliberate act, not something that happens in passing.
    • Nobody else. Not advertisers, not other customers, not other tools.

The database is set up so that even when signed in, you can only ever read your own rows. That is enforced by the database itself, not just by the app.

6. Nothing crosses between tools

Anything you share inside Lumi stays inside Lumi. It is not visible to the Mindful Money app, to any other tool in the ecosystem, or to the website.

If a way to carry your own context from one place to another is ever built, it will be something you choose, see, and can switch off. It will never happen quietly in the background.

7. Improving the work

Two different things here, and only one of them involves your words.

How the reset is doing. Which steps people find hard, where people stop coming back. That is progress data, not conversation, and it is part of running the service.

Learning from what people write. This only happens if you turn it on. It is off unless you choose it, you are asked once at the start, and you can change your mind any time from Privacy at the bottom of the screen. Turning it off stops it from that point on, and nothing you write afterwards is looked at.

Either way, never your words lifted out and quoted. Removing a name is not the same as anonymising, because a money story carrying a job, a city, an amount and a family situation identifies someone perfectly well without a name attached. So the rule is aggregate patterns only, unless you separately and explicitly agree to a specific quote.

8. The companies involved

Running Lumi means a handful of companies process data on our behalf. Each one is under a data processing agreement, and each is named here rather than hidden behind "our partners".

Company What it does Where it processes
Supabase Stores your account, your progress and your conversation, and sends your sign-in code EU (Stockholm)
Anthropic Runs Claude, which writes Lumi's replies United States
Stripe Takes payment and holds your card details EU and United States
Vercel Hosts the app EU (Stockholm)
Resend Delivers the sign-in code email EU and United States
Kit Ken's email list, only if you said yes to emails from Ken: your email address and two tags United States

Transfers outside the EU. Anthropic, Stripe, Resend and Kit process some data in the United States. Each one's data processing agreement, including the Standard Contractual Clauses that cover the transfer, forms part of the terms accepted when the account was opened.

One thing worth knowing about Anthropic. Your conversation is sent to Claude to generate each reply. Anthropic deletes those inputs and outputs within 30 days. They are never used to train their models. The exception is content flagged for breaking Anthropic's usage policy, which they may keep for up to two years.

9. Cookies and tracking

Lumi sets one kind of cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no third-party tracking, and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to beyond keeping you signed in.

10. How long is it kept

For as long as you have an account. There is no automatic expiry, because a reset you return to after six months should still be there.

When you delete your account, your conversation, your progress and your subscription record are removed immediately and permanently. They are not archived, and there is no undo.

The one thing that stays is Stripe's record of payments already taken. Norwegian bookkeeping law requires those records to be kept for five years, and that obligation outlives the account.

11. Deleting everything

Inside Lumi, at the bottom of the screen, there is Delete my data. It asks you once to be sure, and then it is done. Any subscription stops at the same moment, so you are not charged again, and if you said yes to emails from Ken, you are unsubscribed from his list too.

You can also write to support@mindfulmoney.life and ask, and we will do it for you.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, or object to it. You can also ask for your data in a portable form.

Write to support@mindfulmoney.life. We will answer within 30 days.

If you are not happy with how it was handled, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no), or to the supervisory authority where you live.

What we rely on to process your data: performing our contract with you, meaning actually providing the reset you signed up for; our legal obligations, for the bookkeeping records; and your consent, which is what covers letting Lumi learn from your words and emails from Ken. Withdrawing consent costs you nothing else: learning is one tick in the Privacy panel, and emails are one click on unsubscribe.

13. Lumi is not a person, and not a therapist

Lumi is an AI guide built on Ken's own experience and methodology. She does not diagnose, treat, or give financial advice, and she is not a substitute for a therapist, a doctor, or a financial adviser.

If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency number, or a crisis line. The findahelpline.com lists free, confidential lines by country.

14. Age

Lumi is for adults. You need to be 18 or older to use it.

15. Changes to this page

If how your data is handled changes in a way that matters, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, you will be emailed about it rather than left to notice.
